I've been to Greece many times as a kid and have many fond (albeit vague) memories of it: beautiful villages with many small lanes, steps and terraces; the typical white houses contrasting with the blue sky; ferry trips to some of the islands; rice pudding with cinnamon; New Year's Eve and Easter in Greece that were celebrated quite differently than back home...I have particularly good memories of a large house that my family once rented over Easter. It was right on the beach and surrounded by orange orchards. But the most amazing things were those huge iguanas in our garden. Hiding eggs for Easter in this place was a lot of fun, and the garden was so big that we were forgetting where we had hidden stuff (plus the iguanas decided that they also really liked the eggs...).
I am planning on another trip to one of the beautiful Greek island some time soon.
